Reset Forgotten Windows 10 Password on your PC or Laptop

Part 1: Reset Microsoft Account Password
Since Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, Microsoft lets you reset forgotten Microsoft account password directly from the lock screen, and you no longer need to use another device to reset your password online.
1: On your PC’s lock screen, click the “I forgot my password” option under the password field.
2: Complete the CAPTCHA to prove you’re a human. Once that’s done, click Next.
3: Now you have to verify your identity using either your secondary email, or your phone number.
4: Fill in the code you received. Once verified, enter a new password – and you’re done!
Now go back to the lock screen and you can sign in to your Microsoft account with the new password.
Part 2: Reset Local Account Password
Forgot the only local administrator password on your laptop? It does not mean that reinstalling Windows is the only solution to the problem. You could reset forgotten local user password on Windows 10 / 8 / 7 using a bootable media – PCUnlocker.
PCUnlocker comes in the form of an ISO image. The entire program is contained within one ISO file that can be used to create a bootable CD or USB drive.
1: Download the bootable ISO image of PCUnlocker. You can choose to write the ISO file to a CD or make a bootable USB using the freeware ISO2Disc.
2: Boot the computer you want to reset local account password for with the CD or USB. Make sure the BIOS is set to boot from the correct media, either CD or USB depending on where you write the ISO image to.
3: Wait for loading the WinPE system. When the PCUnlocker program finds the local usernames on your machine, select one of the accounts and click on Reset Password.
4: Your forgotten password will be removed in no time. Reboot and you can then access Windows without a password!
Do not hurry to reset your entire Windows 10 OS when you forgot the password of a local account or Microsoft account.
