The OnePlus devices comes with the notch. Even the OnePlus 7 series smartphones comes with the Notch except the pro version. Here is the OnePlus Notch Killer Magisk module. You can watch Fullscreen Apps In Notch OnePlus Devices.
The notch is really a big dumb thing created by Apple and then blindly followed by other OEMs. Its really annoying and personally I prefer the old 18:9 ratio devices over the big notches like in Poco F1, OnePlus 6 etc.
Though nowadays lots of phones are opting for notch-less display. So why to create notch-devices in the first place…! Anyway if you have OnePlus device and want to enjoy the apps and videos till the notch display you can try OnePlus Notch Killer module.
OnePlus Notch Killer Module
It is Magisk Module, developed by XDA Forum member YAARIA. All credits go to the developers. So what exactly this module do? After installing the module the apps like Netflix or videos can be stretched up-to the notch display.
Like, if you are watching Netflix, it will show very less display proportion. Even if the notch is there it cannot stretch out the display till the notch. This is where the OnePlus Notch Killer came into play. See the below before and after screenshots.
So now you may have got the idea about the OnePlus Notch Killer module. So you’ll need a rooted OnePlus device and it should have Magisk Installed.
How To Install
Download the above ZIP File to your phone. Download any root file explorer like Solid Explorer.
Now you have to extract the ZIP file to root directory. Extract the zip file to /data/adb/modules. See below screenshot.
After extracting is complete. Now reboot your device.
Now to enable the module. Go to Settings–>Developer Options–>Display Cutout. Tap on the Notch Killer.
So that’s it, now you can watch videos and run apps till your notch display. If you are not happy with the results, you can revert back from the same developer options display cutout option.
