I’ve previously posted information about iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 news and updates to our Telegram channel. The official macOS 27 Golden Gate wallpapers are available for free download at their native resolution. To preserve an optimal viewing experience with your Mac’s desktop or laptop wallpaper, we have collected and zipped the various assets of these files.
We have taken the Wallpapers from Apple’s official macOS 27 beta release. All the Wallpapers are compressed into a single zip archive for easy access to the downloaded content. These will work well as a desktop wallpaper for any high-definition screen.
About macOS 27
macOS 27 Golden Gate represents the first time in which Apple has made it necessary to have an Apple Silicon processor to be able to run macOS on compatible hardware. In addition to the significant performance improvements that will result from using Apple Silicon processors, the new processors are also specifically designed for the new Apple Intelligence Suite. The new Apple GPUs provide better animation and faster rendering capabilities for the new Liquid Glass visual effects available in macOS 27 Golden Gate.
Hardware storage requirements and display options remain consistent with those of other recent Apple computers. Basic features can run on lower-end models (such as the base model) of the M1 series, however, at least 12 GB of memory is needed to use advanced on-device generative-AI functionality. This provides for compatibility between hardware and software that creates a high-performance, user-friendly environment when running your Mac Desktop or Laptop computer.
macOS 27 Wallpapers
The macOS 27 Golden Gate wallpapers feature an abstract background with multiple large, curved layers. These designs utilize the same aesthetic across macOS, iOS, and iPadOS 27, varying only in aspect ratio. The light variant showcases warm gold and blue hues, while the dark version transitions beautifully into a midnight blue palette.

How to Set These Wallpapers on Your Mac and Windows
On Mac (macOS):
- Download and extract the zip file called macOS_27_Golden_Gate_Wallpapers in the location of your preference
- Go into System Settings by using Apple Menu → System Settings
- Navigate to the Wallpaper section from the left sidebar
- Click on “Add Photo” or the “+” icon to locate your desired folder
- Locate either your preferred light version of a macOS 27 Golden Gate wallpaper or your preferred dark version of a macOS 27 Golden Gate wallpaper
- Choose your screen fit method — choose Fill Screen, Fit to Screen, or Stretch to fill Screen
- If you have multiple monitors/dual monitors, perform these same steps separately on each individual monitor
On Windows (11/10):
- Download and unzip the
macOS_27_Golden_Gate_Wallpapers.zipfile to a local folder - Right-click on an empty area of your Desktop
- Select Personalize from the context menu
- Click Background in the Personalization settings
- Set Personalize your background dropdown to Picture
- Click Browse photos and navigate to the extracted wallpaper folder
- Select your preferred wallpaper — light or dark variant — and it will apply instantly
- For best results, set the Choose a fit option to Fill or Fit to match your screen resolution
