OnePlus from being a developer-friendly brand becoming the hated brand nowadays. The inclusion of Color OS in OxygenOS 12 and changing the entire thing OnePlus stood for in the first place. Now the news is Google camera on OnePlus OxygenOS 12 devices will not work anymore. The Google camera developer channel on Telegram stated the same.
The upcoming update of OxygenOS 12 is based on Color OS. Everyone knows that already, but it’s not just a skin of Color OS all of the internal things associated with the ColorOS are being incorporated in the new OxygenOS 12. Recently, the Gcam developer channel on Telegram stated the reasons and even said try not to buy OnePlus phones if you want GCam.

The reason is being OnePlus is blocking access to auxiliary cameras. It includes wide, telephoto, and macro cameras starting from Android 12. This limitation of access I think was present on the Android 11 version too. But devs seem to manage it by some package names. But as per the developers, nothing is working on OxygenOS 12 version.
You can check the above message which was posted in the Telegram channel recently. Before that lots of users were complaining that GCam is not working on their devices anymore. The limitation of blocking access to auxiliary cameras is the same limitation that was present on the OPPO phones for a while now.
Devs suggested if you want to use GCam with all working sensors don’t upgrade to OxygenOS 12. Also, there are lots of bugs in at least one OnePlus 9 Pro OxygenOS 12 version. The never settle guy is finally getting settled by making more mistakes. Though devs might find some way to run but still considering other brands even Samsung is not supposedly blocking the access. But in the case of OnePlus, it’s changing now.
