Grand Theft Auto V is finally available on Android and players are already jumping right in. For over a decade Rockstar had the game exclusive to PC and consoles. But now an unofficial port by a Chinese developer has made everything different. Best of all, you do not need Winlator, Mobox or GameHub to play at all. The GTA 5 APK has the Wine, Box64, and DXVK translation layers built into it. This means the game launches directly to your app drawer just like any other mobile game.
This is not an official release from Rockstar. It uses leaked source code for GTA V and wraps the PC version in an ARM translation layer. So it is a wrapped port, not a native one. Story mode runs fine but Online and Social Club do not work because online servers and anti cheat checks do not pass through that translation layer. For now, the Chinese-ported Ported GTA 5 APK with game Data is available for download and is playable on modern flagship Android phones.
GTA 5 Android Port
Storage is the first big hurdle. The APK is only about 182 MB, but the stripped-down data package is around 63 GB. The full uncompressed archive tops at more than 100 GB. You will need at least 120 GB free space before you start. Performance is very much dependent on the chipset. If you have Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 8 Gen 2, 8 Gen 3 or 8 Elite with Adreno GPU then you get FPS between 30 and 80, with Elite phones often hitting 60 to 80 FPS with active cooling too. Phones with the Exynos 2200, 2400, 2500, and 2600 and an Xclipse GPU also work thanks to Vulkan and ANGLE layers. MediaTek Dimensity, Google Tensor, and Mali GPUs are not supported.
This port is still in beta so expect some rough spots. The game starts in Chinese, so you will have to change to English in settings. Opening cutscene might freeze but audio continues. Some devices with Snapdragon chips crash when compiling shaders. Turning off shadows in settings.xml fixes that problem. We also found that stripping asset packages breaks the Prologue bank heist mission. So keep the game data folder complete.

How to Install GTA 5 on Android
- Extract the game data archive with ZArchiver. Make sure you do not end up with nested duplicate folders like GTAV/GTAV.
- Move the extracted Games folder to the root of your internal storage, or to the exact path mentioned in the loader readme.
- Install the GTA 5 APK and grant All Files Access when Android asks for permission on first launch.
- Open settings.xml inside the game folder, set ShadowQuality and Lighting_Shadows to 0, and set the resolution to 1280 x 720. This prevents the crash during shader compilation.
- Launch the game. The menu opens in Chinese, so go to Settings and switch the language to English.
- Save files land in Games/GTAV/save/. If the prologue bank heist mission breaks, copy the provided save file instead of playing through it.

Please download only from the links provided and keep APK and data together from same release. Do not trust free APKs from random sites offering GTA Online for Android. Anyone promising this is just scamming. This port is a showcase of technical quality. It works only on flagships with ample storage and external cooling; for mid range phones please wait for official port. Development is still ongoing.
