The 5G is really faster than the previous 4G generation. But also it needs lots of points to cover up the whole area with good internet speeds. Even countries like the UK, the USA didn’t implement it on a wide-scale yet. The cell towers need to be close to each other as the waves of 5G can’t travel the long distance as in the case of previous generations.

Jio 5G speeds were achieved by Qualcomm in recent tests and were about 1GBPS. Jio has developed 5G RAN (Radio Access Network) with the help of Qualcomm. This technology is already tested in countries like the USA by tier 1 carriers. The president of Reliance Jio Infocomm Matthew Oommen stated at the Qualcomm 5G summit,

I am excited to announce that with the Qualcomm technology and support, Reliance Jio has developed the 5G RAN product which can outputs up to 1GBPS, in fact joining the Gigabit throughput. The product is already tested with tier 1 carriers in the USA.

Matthew Oommen

This Speed puts India into very few nations to get the 1GBPS throughput via 5G. Countries like South Korea, USA, Australia, Germany and Switzerland was able to show up the 1GBPS speeds.

If you didn’t know the Qualcomm already invested about 750 crores for the 0.15% of stakes in Reliance Jio. In the coming months Jio is supposed to launch the 5G services with their own smartphones too. Just like they did with 4G services.
