Tencent Drops All Indian Teams From PubG Mobile Pro League 2020

PubG Mobile was was blockbuster in India, contributing about approx. 33-50% of userbase from India. Indian government banned PubG mobile and some other Chinese Apps on the basis on National security and also due to ongoing conflict with China. Now Tencent responded, Tencent Drops Indian Teams almost all of the Indian Teams from its tournaments.

The Pubg Mobile Pro League 2020 was a big tournament for Pubg mobile players. Its been dominated by Indian teams from season 1. The earlier reports revealed, Tencent Drops Indian teams from participating in the Pubg Mobile Pro League 2020. The Tencent Pubg Mobile Events director James Yang did a video conference with owners of the Indian Teams and informed the same.

It means all Indian teams are prohibited from participating any Pubg Mobile tournaments regardless of their currently situated country. Now these teams can’t participate in Pubg Mobile Pro League 2020 Fall Split. This move is surely a big loss for all these teams who were dependent only on the Pubg Mobile.

Dropped Indian Teams

There was 24 Indian Squads, 17 of them were selected earlier. Remaining of them were selected from PMCO Cup and some from previous season. The top 5 teams including TeamXSpark, FutureStation Esports, Stalwart Esports, Fintox Esports and TEAM iNSANE were dropped. Also, other teams like Orange Rock, TSM Entity, Nova GodLike, Galaxy Racer, Fnatic, Team SouL, UMumba eSports and TeamIND are dropped too.

It seems like the Tencent had huge loss due to the Indian Ban on PubG. They are somehow trying to retaliate the situation. Previous Pubg Mobile Pro League SA and Pubg Mobile Club Open organizer Nodwin Gaming is also not going organize events this time. After the Pubg Ban, some teams were deciding to switch to different region to participate in tournaments. But that won’t be possible because they are not allowed to travel to other countries as well.

These teams were the top teams in the tournaments. But now it seems like they have to switch to other games. Pubg PC is still there if they are willing to switch to these games. but Pubg mobile had very big audience from India which had big impact on these teams. The reason for Tencent Drops Indian teams is not clear but obviously it has a link with the India PubG ban.

The future for these teams seems dark in this particular game. Hope they switch to other games and gain their place back. If you don’t miss out on news like this Join our Telegram Channel.
