OnePlus came with the flagship killer tag and became flagship itself. One of the main selling points of the OnePlus devices is the Oxygen OS. Now OnePlus Color OS smartphones would be coming soon. Some leaks revealed that OnePlus might launch future smartphones with Color OS in China.
If you don’t know OnePlus uses hydrogen OS in China. For the rest of the global world, it uses the Oxygen OS. Though hydrogen OS is about to hit the OnePlus smartphones. OnePlus China maybe switching to the Color OS in China soon for the future OnePlus smartphones.
OnePlus Color OS
An XDA senior member hikari_calyx brought attention to the alleged made announcement in the official OnePlus QQ group. The company will be ending the operations of the hydrogen OS. The official website to be shut down on March 24 and the OTA server to be shut down on April 1st, according to the announcement. After this announcement, some users are started discussing it on the OnePlus forums.
The feedback and reactions are mixed. Upcoming OnePlus 9 is believed to be coming with the Color OS out of the box. Some are good with this news as the Color OS is localized in China while some are used to the stock Android feel. XDA guys reached to the spokesperson of OnePlus and here is the statement.
We don’t have any updates about HydrogenOS to share at the moment, but we can confirm that OxygenOS remains our operating system for all global devices.

OnePlus is originated from the former OPPO employees Carl Pie and Pete Leu. Though one of them left and also recently OnePlus and OPPO hardware teams are merged. Now the only difference is the software and now that seems to be fixed. Though this will affect only the Chinese variant of the OnePlus smartphones. We will update once any development comes up.
