Carl Pei Launched Nothing

Recently, after raising about $7 million dollars Carl Pei launched nothing company. The firm is based in London. They described themselves as, forward-thinking consumer technology company. But as of now, there is no mention of any products that will be available or expected to be launched. Here is the video released by Nothing.

The Nothing received funding from prominent people. Tony Fadell (former CEO of Nest, inventor of iPod), Kevin Lin (co-founder of Twitch), Steve Huffman (co-founder and CEO of Reddit), Josh Buckley (CEO of Product Hunt), and Casey Neistat (YouTuber) funded the Nothing venture.

It’s been a while since anything interesting happened in tech. It is time for a fresh breeze of change. Nothing’s mission is to remove barriers between people and technology to create a seamless digital future. We believe that the best technology is beautiful, yet natural and intuitive to use. When sufficiently advanced, it should fade into the background and feel like nothing.

Carl Pei

OnePlus devices surely faced criticism recently with the similarities between the OPPO and OnePlus devices. Like recently launched OnePlus N100 similar to OPPO A53.

[Nothing is] a completely independent company owned by our founding team and our investors, with its own R&D department. And despite using contract manufacturers to build its devices, Nothing won’t just “relabel somebody else’s products.”

Carl Pei to the verge

We will see a new firm shortly entering the markets. Though Carl Pei didn’t said specifics about the products yet but there are strong chances of wearable and later smartphones.
