Apple is always in the news not only because of smartphone but also because of lawsuits. Recently, Italy’s Altrconsumo filed the €60 million ($73 million) lawsuits. Apple faces €60 million lawsuit just after the previous lawsuits because of battery gate issues.
If you remember previously there were some issues like battery gate. The Itlay’s Altraconsumo says, Apple has deceived its customers with practises of planned obsolescence. This lawsuit will be applied on the iPhone 6, 6S and 6 Plus sold during 2014 and 2020 year.
Apple Faces €60 Million lawsuit
In simple words, this lawsuit is referred to the issues of performance throttling. If you remember there was whole lot of articles everywhere about Apple slowing down the iPhone 6 smartphones intentionally. Though Apple denied it but they also said, the processor clock speeds will decrease if the battery degrades.
In March 2020, Apple had to pay over $500 million because of the battery gate issues. The fresh lawsuit was just a month ago happened in Italy of about 10 million euros for misleading claims regarding water resistance. Altraconsumo is trying to say the same thing, Apple is using unfair practises to slow down the older iPhones that will degrade the battery. Also, to cover the issue they are offering battery replacement for reduced prices.
Apple Faces €60 Million lawsuit is not new in Europe. There has been multiple lawsuits filed in Europe previously. If the Altraconsumo wins the lawsuit Apple will be liable to pay €60 Million money.
We hope this is the last step to remedy the damage caused to date by the company but it is also the first step towards greater fairness by Apple towards its consumers
