The newest HP gaming laptops are coming today July 21 in India. HP Omen 15 WAS launched at a starting price of $999 globally. The price is lowered down in India. If converted the price will be 75K+ but in India, it is available at 74920INR.
HP Omen laptops have a good design and this time they did well with the cooling too. Laptop gaming is always considered inefficient compared to desktop because of obvious reasons. But HP this time did well with the cooling now. The Ryzen 4000 series chipsets are the best in class right now.
Though lots of Manufacturers opted for Intel 10th Gen processors this time like Acer Gaming laptops. But HP has opted for Ryzen 4000 series chipsets and it seems the best deal. The processor already outperforms the Intel 10th Gen chipsets and gives better performance. Let’s know more about the HP Omen 15 2020 series laptops.
HP Omen 2020 Specifications
HP Omen 15 2020 comes to with the Ryzen 7 4800H and Ryzen 5 4600H chipsets. Currently, only the Ryzen 5 4600H chipsets are available. The processor is Hexa Core that is 6 cores and 12 threads. It can perform much better in video editing works and gaming.
The highest version is available with the Nvidia RTX 2070 Q-Max CPU but for now Nvidia 1660TI and 1650TI are available. Both of these GPU’s are capable enought to handle gaming and video editing. There is 10K INR difference between these two laptops. If you are not on tight budget you can opt for 1660TI.
These two models have 8GB + 512GB SSD option and 16GB + 1TB SSD option. It has backlit keyboard just like any other gaming laptops. But these keys looks way better than their previous versions. Talking about the display it has 15.6inch FHD display. You can choose 1080p IPS LCD or 144Hz FHD IPS LCD or 300Hz FHD IPS LCD, or 120Hz UHD IPS LCD or OLED displays. The Nvidia G-Sync will be available on higher end versions.
Design and Battery
The design is sleek and it has the diamond logo on the back. Though its not the glowing logo but it looks good enough. It has more trimmed bezels and aluminum made palm rest. The laptop weighs around 2.37KG which is good considering the power it has packed.
D2D also mentioned about its cooling capabilities. HP Omen 2020 comes with a thermopile sensor that helps to maintain the thermals and controlling the fan speeds. It has a 12V fan and has 3 side vents which result in 5 way airflow. It will surely be helpful for longer duration gaming. The audio is a bang and Olufsenand HP audio boosts.
HP claimed that this will upto 12.5hrs but obviously while gaming its not gonna last that much. The fast charger is provided which charges 50% in 45 minutes. Its not the fastest one but still its good to have one.
