How To Unlock Steps
1.) Firstly, go to settings–> about the phone and keep tapping on MIUI Version until it shows “You are now a developer”.
2.) Now go to additional settings–>developer options—>OEM unlocking. Enable the OEM unlocking option.
3.) Make sure you have an MI account and your sim card inserted in the phone.
4.) In the developer options click on the add account option and add your MI account so that the MI account will be linked to your device.
5.) Now it’s time to open the MI Unlock tool and log in with the same account that you used already.
6.) Boot your smartphone into fast boot mode. You can do that by long pressing Power + VOL DOWN button.
7.) Get the USB cable and connect your phone to PC and click on refresh in MI Unlock tool.
8.) Now all you have to do is click on unlock. Though it will give you time window like 168 hours etc. There’s no way to bypass it you can use your phone till then normally. Make sure to backup the data once the time window gets over.
9.) After the time window is over connect your phone again and click on unlock, follow instruction and reboot. Your device will get unlocked.
