Recently, Xiaomi’s Chief Business officer said Xiaomi will launch power user laptops only in India for now.

The work from home situations is giving rise to the requirements of laptops. Xiaomi also launched its latest power Redmibook 16 in China with Ryzen 4000 chipsets. If the pricing is approximately converted the base model price would be 40K in India. Raghu Reddy, business officer Xiaomi India said, they will launch only power users suitable laptops. So Xiaomi will try to get all the power users. The content creators, gamers and students will be most focussed while launching these laptops. So this may be the end of users who were looking ti buy Redmibooks for casual use. But I expect the base models will surely start from 45K at least. Xiaomi was planning to launch these laptops range in Diwali. Reddy said, But due to the high demand as of now its better to launch them now.

We were planning to launch it before the big festive season, before Diwali. But given the situation in industry and people working from home and students looking for devices for online classes, short-term demand might be higher than the past.

The Thin and Light Gaming Segment

Reddy added, the thing and light gaming segment is trending in India right now. There are already well established brands like HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus and Acer. They have offline availability too. Reddy said, Xiaomi can use its brands presence to get the benefits and provide models to offline market. Currently, these laptop giants like Dell, Lenovo, HP owns almost 75% market share.

If Xioami launched the Redmibook laptops in India at reasoanable price they are going to get market for sure. RedmiBooks are already price effective laptops. But after the statement for “Thing and Light Gaming” they launch MI gaming laptops.
