We have already posted Huawei device unbrick guide with the DC Phoenix tool, But this one is not free to use. The HWOTA Tool is a free tool created by forum members you can Unbrick Huawei & Honor Devices; Rebrand Huawei Deice’s also you can update Full OTA files with HWOTA script.

Supported Devices:-

HWOTA supports all new Huawei and Honor devices Like Huawei Mate 9/Pro, Huawei Mate 10/Pro, Huawei P10, Huawei P20 Lite, Honor 8, Honor 9, Honor 8 Pro, Honor 7x, Honor 6x, etc.

Requirements:-

• Charge the device.
• Free Space on internal storage or SD Card.
• Windows installed Pc.
• USB Cable.
• Enable USB Debug -> Enable USB Debugging on Huawei and Honor Devices
• Install Huawei Driver or HiSuite.
• Full Ota Zip Files.

Guide To Use Huawei HWOTA Tool

Method 1:- Update Android 7.0 to Android 8.0 and Rebrand Device

1. First Install Huawei driver Read Requirements and Download Official Firmware from http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/ Download “update.zip“, “update_hw.zip”, “update_data_full_public.zip“.

• Search with your device model no Example:- “LON-***” (Huawei Mate 9 Pro). If you want to rebrand the device then Download the other Different region firmware. For Example, now I have C432 EU firmware and I want to rebrand Asia so I will download LON-L29C636.
• After Search, the firmware checks the latest firmware by release date and Choice the FullOTA click on filelist to view the links.

• Now Download the all 3 zip files “update.zip”, “update_**_hw_**.zip”, “update_data_full_public.zip” by Copying the Download Links.

1. Re-name the files update.zip, update_all_hw.zip, and update_data_public.zip for some device hw files rename it to update_full_hw.zip e.g. Honor 8.

1. Download Huawei HWOTA Tool Zip for your device and unzip it. Copy HWOTA folder to the desktop.
2. Copy update.zip, update_all_hw.zip, and update_data_public.zip to HWOTA\update Folder.
3. Switch off your phone and turn it into fastboot mode by Volume Down + Connect USB Cable.
4. Run update.bat and read the instructions.

• The script will flash twrp recovery after successfully flashing the recovery you have to enter twrp Manually by Volume Up + Power Key.

• Choice the update method 1 or 2 I will recommend 2. Script update directory if you want the sd card method then create HWOTA folder in the sd card and copy all the 3 files update.zip, update_all_hw.zip, and update_data_public.zip.
• If you want to rebrand the phone, you can Choice option 2 and select the model you want to re-brand.
• The script automatically copies the files to your phone if you have selected the Script update directory method.

1. Wait to complete the flashing and do a full reset after a normal reboot.

Method 2:- Downgrade to Android 7.0, Rebrand Device, Update new OTA

1. Download HWOTA8 Tool zip and unzip it and flash twrp recovery by running “Replace_Recovery.bat” or flash manually.

• Created HWOTA8 folder in Sd card or internal storage and copy all the files from HWOTA8 zip and firmware update.zip, update_all_hw.zip, and update_data_public.zip.
• Turn your phone into Twrp recovery Mode and Install “hwota8_update.zip.”

• If you want to re-brand the device copy oeminfo.bin file from HWOTA to HWOTA8 folder and Install hwota8_rebrand.zip.
• For Downgrade to Android 7.0 First Copy update.zip, update_all_hw.zip, and update_data_public.zip to HWOTA8\repack folder and run “repack.bat” Then you can copy the files to sd card HWOTA8 folder.
